Our Itinerary

Here's our itinerary:

Sunday, September 10, 2006: Arrive at the airport at 6:30 (3 hours early... ugh)

Monday, September 11, 2006: Arrive in Beijing at 9:30 p.m. local time. Add 12 hours to Florida time to determine the date and time in Beijing.... We'll have been "traveling" for over 27 hours before we set eyes on a bed!

September 12 & 13: Both of these days are free time for us since we arrive prior to most of the group. We are currently discussing what we will do to fill our days. We were going to go to the
Beijing Zoo to see the pandas but that has been worked in to our itinerary once we arrive in Chongqing (pronounced chong-ching)... other ideas we are tossing around: The Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, local shopping, pearl factory, etc...

September 14: Yeah! The rest of the Bethany crew should be here by now!! We go to an acrobatic show in the afternoon with the rest of the Bethany group... 21 couples + some children.

September 15: Visit
Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and Hutong Tour (includes rickshaw ride).

September 16: Visit
Great Wall and Cloisonne (pronounced cloy-sen-aye) Factory. Fly to Chongqing at 7 p.m.

September 17: Gracie Day!!! We will all head over to the orphanage to pick up our babies at 8:30 a.m. (8:30 p.m., Sept. 16, FL time.) It's a rare honor to be able to actually visit the orphanage. Normally the babies are brought to the hotel or the civil affairs office. Adoption registration is at 3 p.m. at the Chongqing Adoption Registration Center.

September 18: Free day. We'll be getting to know our daughter.

September 19: Visit the Chongqing Zoo to see pandas.. YEAH!

September 20: Early flight to
Guangzhou. Gracie will have her "official" medical exam in the afternoon.

September 21: Visa appointment. Rest of day is free.

September 22: Appointment at U.S. consulate to take the oath of citizenship for Gracie, and pick up her visa.... rest is free day

Saturday, September 23: Fly home. Arrive in Orlando around
5:30 pm
